Welcome to my website. This is a digital archive of my life, mostly just a blog. Past iterations have had more information, such as bucket lists, countries visited, non-blog writing I’ve done, visual arts, and other cyber-junk, but this version, for now at least, is just my blog. It exists as a sort of middle ground between highly public social media and highly private journals. If you have come searching for it, I appreciate your time, dear reader. Most of the time, when I read my own writing, I can hardly believe that it was really I who wrote that. As far as my own taste goes, these words seem to have a shelf life of about two days. Left to sit much longer than that, they tend to take on a funky taste (at best), and I’m faced with no choice but to passionately disagree with myself. Yet, I never go back and edit (even to fix typos, as even the most cursory skimming will expose) in an effort to add to this blog the function of time capsule. Ideally, each entry captures the version of myself that was writing in that moment, as well as a somewhat accurate account of the events described therein. If you, dear reader, are a potential employer, well… Proceed at your own caution. Generally, if reading this makes you not want to hire me, I’m sorry to say that it’s probably not a great fit anyways.
“Maps made from personal itineraries are mostly guesswork; they suggest departure points for explorers. If used instead as territorial surveys, to stake claims, they cause boundary disputes. Here’s how I propose to make a map that’s both faithful and corrigible: I’ll tell enough about my personal coordinates so each reader can correct for perspective.” – Jim Corbett, Goatwalking, 1991
